About Saville & Brett
Inspired by Heritage. Built on Memory. Created with Heart.
The Story Behind the Name
Saville and Brett is named in honour of Mike’s two grandmothers Ann Saville and Maggie Brett who were born in England at the end of the 19th century. They lived through a time of great change from the first automobiles to early aviation and a rapidly evolving world.
Both worked in service and shared stories full of warmth resilience and a deep respect for craft and tradition. This studio is inspired by their lives and created as a tribute to their memory.

About the Artist

Mike Tott was born in England and has built his creative life across two continents. His artistic journey began in the village of Braughing near Cambridge, where an inspiring art teacher showed him that graphic design can be “art with purpose.” Typography, collage, photography, and visual storytelling soon became the foundation of his work.
In the early 1970s, Mike moved to Montreal and worked in advertising studios before becoming Vice President and Senior Art Director at J. Walter Thompson. His work gained international recognition in Hollywood, New York, Cannes, and Toronto.
Along the way, designing album covers connected him with the world of music and led to an important relationship with André Perry of Le Studio in Morin Heights. This inspired Mike to settle there, raise a family, and co-found Gourmet du Village, which now celebrates 40 years.
Today, Mike’s passions for design, music, nostalgia, and collecting historical objects all come together in his unique assemblage art.
The Birth of Assemblage Art
Over the years Mike has collected hundreds of objects including kitchen tools, clocks toys, tin boxes, documents, postcards and forgotten relics from the past century.
What began as simple collections slowly grew into three dimensional artworks where each object tells its own story giving new life and meaning to things that once had their own histories.
Each piece features:
➤ A story inspired by memory history or music
➤ A central object that draws the eye.
➤ A soundtrack that guided the creation
➤ A carefully chosen theme that ties it all together.
Today in The Studio
Based in Quebec, Mike continues to design and photograph each piece in his home studio, where he restores, assembles and documents every artwork.
His current work blends:
➤ Historic household items
➤ Canadian and English nostalgia
➤ Stories told through composition and colour
➤ Vintage memorabilia
➤ Childhood relics
➤ Musical culture
